Experience

I have been working within the health and fitness industry for over 6 years. In these years I have experienced hands on training with many clients ranging from all different ages, fitness levels and body compositions. Taking on a client and watching them achieve their goals and seeing how their mood and confidence can change is one of the most highly rewarding feelings I have experienced and this is what drives me as a professional and in the service I provide to my clients.

My advice on a ‘Monthly Guide’

Personal training does not have to be £ consuming, some people need that motivation and require a trainer more often than others and will quite happily spend the money and receive the quality service. The best way I feel you can benefit from a personal trainer without spending the £’s is by using him as your monthly guide and allow him to keep checks on your progress and provide monthly goals and exercise programs for you to work with whilst monitoring your diet and providing nutritional feedback.

We offer more than just exercise!

A Personal trainer isn’t just there to throw exercise in your face. I like to think of him as a person who can share your health problems. In my experience finding the solution to such problems can be difficult, time consuming and sometimes just seem in possible even after you’ve seen your physio, doctor, surgeon and chiropractor etc. I believe that research through journals, books and the internet can some times be the only way to reach the root of your problems, however this can be very time consuming and this is where your personal trainer can step in and help.

For Example:

My dad for many years has suffered from lower back pain, he has a physically demanding job and was suffering due to the pain in his lower back. He took the usual steps of the doctor, physio and chiropractor and never found anything to ease the pain. I decided to take a bit of time during my studies to help dig deeper into his problem. It turned out he suffered a nasty fall whilst playing badminton many years prior to the pain occurring, this fall caused the joint between his sacrum and pelvis to move slightly. This joint is known as the sacro-Illiac (S.I.) joint, it is neither hinge nor ball and socket rather a sliding joint with very little motion (too small to measure), many of his symptoms pointed towards this as the cause of his pain. He now wears a special belt whilst taking part in anything physical and since this, the pain has cleared.

My point made here is that sometimes a lot more time needs to be taken to find solutions that solve problems; some people don’t have the time for this. WE DO!
